Insect bites can cause problems in some dogs. If your dog scratches at a spot or chews it, give the dog a weight appropriate dose of Benadryl, which should reduce the reaction. Your dog may become sleepey and thirsty, this is normal. If symptons are not gone in a couple of hours consult your vet.
