Acquiring a Puppy Process
Stage
One
-
Fill
out puppy information form.

Read
contract information

Must
agree to terms of our contract
-
We
will email you a date and time to call us, then Contact
us by phone at the date time we both have agreed on, and talk about
getting a puppy. This is usually a 2 step
process.

You
must be approved to get a puppy. Not everyone is approved.
Stage
Two
-
If
approved we will send you a deposit letter for you to sign and return.
-
A $
300.00 Non-Refundable deposit is required. Balance will be in 2
installments first due 5 days after puppy is born last on delivery of
puppy. If puppy is already born then 50% deposit is required and
balance at time of delivery.

Puppies
are sent home between 10 and 12 weeks of age. This is for the best
interest of the puppy, the fear stage of the puppy sets in between 8-10
weeks of age. Any bad experience puppy has will stay with them for the
rest of the life of the dog. This period is very important time for
puppy to be with litter mates and people puppy has come and trust and
love.

When
the puppies arrive and the sex you wanted is not available we will give
you the choice of the other sex, give you first choice on like breeding
or refund your money.

Puppies
are delivered in the order we receive deposit. If you are first on list
then you get first choice.

Start
making arrangements on how the puppy is going to be picked up.
We
do not Air-Ship our puppies.

Contract
Highlights
Pet Contract
-
We
identify all parties involved in the contract, including a detailed
description of the dog and what is expected from both parties.
-
We
maintain a security interest in the dog for specific performance of
proper care and it is binding on the estate should the owners die
before the dog does.

We
promise a good family pet, but do not provide a special purpose
warranty.

We
allow you to name the dog your chosen AKC/UKC name, after our prefix of
"DeCaC's"
For pet and show puppies we
-
Provide
first vaccinations, worming and all pups are certified healthy in
writing by a licensed veterinarian.
-
Temperament
and health guarantee.
-
Provide
a 5 generation pedigree and instructions for proper care of your
American Eskimo/Alaskan Malamute puppy.
-
Guarantee
for 5 years your puppy will not have crippling hip dysphasia or any
serious genetic disease.
-
Do
not require the dog to be returned to honor the contract. We will make
adjustments based on the degree of the debility so you won't have to
give up a treasured pet.
-
Offer
lifelong support for questions regarding training, grooming or problem
solving.
-
Provide
AKC/UKC registration.
Your Requirements
-
Allow
your dog to live in your home, as a participating family member.
-
Provide
proper training using positive reinforcement methods.
-
Provide
proper socializing of you pup to children, other dogs and other people
as your puppy grows.
-
Provide
proper maintenance, grooming and regular health care, including
vaccinations and heart worm preventative.
-
Treat
the dog humanely and keep us informed 2 times a year on his well being.
-
Never
resell, give up to a shelter, give away or otherwise place the dog in
another home without our permission. You must return the dog to us
should you be unable to keep it for ANY reason. (We want to make sure
that the dog is not passed from home to home or ends up in a shelter
unwanted).

Microchip
in case of loss or theft.
-
Never
train your dog for guard dog or use abusive training methods.
-
Use
appropriate collars for daily use and training.
-
Have
dog spray/neuter by 6-8 months of age and provide us proof when
requested. If not sprayed/neutered breeder will be
compensated 10 times the amount you paid for the puppy.

Have
the puppy checked within 3 business days by licensed veterinarian and
maintain a vaccination schedule so the puppy will be fully immunized.
-
Provide
a securely fenced area of adequate size, height and security (invisible
fence systems,chains,
trolley systems are unacceptable)
-
Stay
in contact with us, let us know and the dog registry know when you move
and tell us of any problems you have with the puppy.

Never
let you puppy ride in a vehicle without the use of a dog crate properly.
-
Attest
you've never been accused of animal cruelty or similar accusations.
Should the dog be obtained by false
pretenses, is cruelly treated, or if any other provision in the
contract are not abided by, we can retake possession of the dog
immediately without any compensation to you.
We
realize our contract is tough
BUT
We love our
puppies ! They are part of our family.
You don't believe in crates and you think it
cruel then you must read this.
Questions you
should ask all breeders
Show Contract:
-
Has
the same care and health requirements as our pet contract.
-
Does
not include a spray/neuter clause, but does include a breeding
restrictions.

The
guarantee is generally the same except that we also guarantee the pup
will not have any genetic problems that would not allow it to be bred
or shown.
-
Not
to breed any puppy till at least 2 years of age.
-
Be
responsible for ALL puppies produced, for their lifetimes, you must use
a contract with all sales.
-
Screen
potential homes thoroughly.
-
Keep
accurate records and only breed to quality animals.
-
Obtain
all required health clearances on both sire and dam before breeding.
-
Sell
all pet puppies with Spray/Neuter contracts.
-
Abide
by specific restrictions for stud dogs ( Includes not to neuter)
-
Abide
by specific breeding restrictions on bitches.
-
We
may retain a co-ownership if we desire.

Puppy
must be named with prefix of DeCaC's
Your Requirements:
-
Must
prepare, train, condition, groom and socialize the puppy properly for
show.
-
If
you can not show the dog yourself obtain a hander to show the puppy.
-
If
you want to show and have not we will help you learn.
-
Show
in both AKC and UKC shows.
